"Sevrugian" Cultural Foundation

The "Sevrugian" Cultural Foundation was established in 2023 as a charitable organisation. The Foundation aims to carry out charitable work, contributing to the preservation and dissemination of Armenian, as well as world art, culture, historical, spiritual and aesthetic values. In this regard, the Foundation initiates various projects and supports the implementation of such programs. It has cooperated with Matenadaran, supporting events dedicated to the Sevrugian family, with the History Museum of Armenia, donating a valuable collection of coins, and with other institutions in Armenia and Germany.

Dr. Emanuel Sevrugian

Founder

Emanuel lived in Heidelberg. He was born in Tehran in 1930. He is the son of the famous artist André Sevrugian and the grandson of the legendary photographer Antoine Sevruguin. The largest collections of his father and grandfather are kept in the most famous museums in the United States, Europe and Armenia.

For 100 years, the family of Iranian-Armenian artists lived not between two cultures, Armenian and Persian, but within them. Emmanuel enjoyed telling the story of his family, which moved from Iran to Austria in 1935, and later to Germany.
